Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint Petersburg Alexander Shishlov has protected the housing rights of a girl left without parental care. The orphan will move into a new apartment after ownership of the apartment from the specialised housing fund is registered.

As a result of the measures taken by Commissioner for Human Rights in Penza Region Elena Rogova, a disabled person having neither a citizenship nor a permanent residence will be finally given Russian citizenship and a passport. Moreover, the possibility that the man will be taken to a relevant social support centre is being considered currently.

The Commissioner for Human Rights in Irkutsk Region has sent a request to Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. Valeriy Lukin suggests amending the legislation which regulates provision of housing and utility services. According to the Commissioner, the current legislation is not balanced, which leads to abuses by providers.

Patients with heart pacemakers to be given opportunity to avoid passing through metal detectors

The Sukhanov Federal Center of Cardiovascular Surgery in Perm will buy new heart pacemakers complemented with a universal electronic card. The card containing the patient’s and pacemaker’s data will allow its holder to pass by metal detector frames. The proposal to provide all patients with heart pacemakers with such a card was intitiated by Commissioner for Human Rights in Perm Territory Tatiana Margolina.
