On 3–7 August, a representative of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia inspected conditions of detention of suspected in and accused of crimes kept in temporary detention facilities (IVSs) and persons in custody for administrative offences contained in special detention centres (SPs) of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region General Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. 

The information about violation of rights of a prisoner, Andrey Krekov, reported in the mass media, had been investigated from 4 to 6 August.

On 7 August, an official letter of information about inspected conditions of detention of Ukrainian citizen Alexander Kostenko was submitted to Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Valeriya Lutkovska. On 5 August, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova expressed her deepest condolences following a road accident at the 125th kilometre of the highway Komsomolsk-on-Amur  — Khabarovsk, which caused tragic deaths of people and resulted in heavy injures to many passengers.

The provisions of the Resolution No.  21-P  adopted by the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation as of 14 July 2015 concerning the legal effect of the judgements delivered by the European Court of Human Rights in relation to Russia have been analysed under instructions of High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova.
