High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova expressed condolences in connection with terrorist acts occurred in Brussels on 22 March.

High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova expressed condolences in connection with a plane crash in the airport of  Rostov-on-Don.

On 14 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova submitted official letters to Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Gennady Kornienko, as well as to the Donetsk City Court of Rostov Region with a request to allow, for the reasons of humanity, Ukrainian doctors to examine Nadezhda Savchenko in the hospital MSU No.77 of the FPS of Russia as soon as possible.

High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova requested Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chayka to check observance of human rights in penal institutions of the Republic of Adygea Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia (the FPS of Russia).

High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova commented on the attack on journalists and human rights defenders which occurred near the administrative border between Ingushetia and Chechnya.

On 9 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova submitted an official request to Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov and Chief Executive Officer of the Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov regarding  non-payment  of due remuneration to staff members of the Tula Research Institute of Technology, OJSC (TNITI, OJSC).

On 2 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova held a master class for students of the Higher School of Economics. The meeting was focused on the interaction between the society, business, authorities and the human rights commissioner’s institution.

On 1 March, the first meeting of a  two-day seminar and conference on the protection of the electoral rights, attended by regional commissioners for human rights, took place in Moscow. It was chaired by High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova.

On 29 February, High Commissioner for Human rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova expressed her condolences in connection with a series of blasts at Severnaya coal mine in Vorkuta.

On 29 February, the federal law on the extension until 1 March 2017 of free privatisation of the state-owned and municipal accommodation occupied by citizens on the basis of a social rent agreement came into effect. The law takes into account the recommendations of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia submitted earlier to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
