Condolences following death of Russian Ambassador in Ankara
High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova expressed her deepest condolences following the death of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkey Andrey Karlov.
High Commissioner took part in round table at Council of Federation
On 19 December, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova took part in a round table of the Council of the Federation Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State-Building. The event was dedicated to the activities of state human rights protection institutions in the context of the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the International Covenants.

High Commissioner held working meeting with Governor of Nenets Autonomous Area
On 15 December, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova held a working meeting with Governor of Nenets Autonomous Area Igor Koshin and a candidate for the post of the regional Commissioner for Human Rights, Larisa Sviridova.
Tatiana Moskalkova met with students of legal clinics
On 14 December, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with students who provide legal consultations as volunteers at legal clinics. Students from main universities of Moscow: Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow City University and others attended the meeting.

Address on Constitution Day
I congratulate you on one of the main public holidays of our country — Day of Constitution of the Russian Federation. On 14 December 1993 a new basic law was adopted in our country. This law proclaimed Man to be the supreme value, while his or her rights and freedoms to be permanent priorities of the State. Article 2 of the Constitution reads: "Man, his rights and freedoms shall be the supreme value. The recognition, observance and protection of human and civil rights and freedoms shall be an obligation of the State".

Condolences following terrorist attacks in Turkey and Egypt
High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova expressed her deepest condolences following a sequence of terrorist attacks that had happened on the night of 11 December in Istanbul (Turkey) and on 11 December in Cairo (Egypt).

Meeting with representatives of human rights organisations
On 9 December, in the run-up of Human Rights Day, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova held a meeting with representatives of human rights organisations. The participants in the metting discussed topical issues of human rights protection, shared current problems in their human rights activities and asked for the High Commissioner’s assistance in solving them.
