On 27 January, the Russia’s Ministry of Culture replied to the appeal of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia regarding the demolition of the Privalov’s apartment buildings. The Ministry of Culture informed that the documents of the historic and cultural expert examination which had been re-submitted by the activists to protect the architectural complex were returned to the applicants.

On 23 January, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova sent official petitions to Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Chayka and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin to "inspect implementation of the laws on protection of cultural heritage" during the initiated demolition of the Privalov’s apartment buildings.

On 19 January, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova appealed to Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky with a request to prevent destruction of Privalov’s apartment buildings.

On 16 January, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova sent a letter of condolences to Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia in relation to the death of the Avetisyan family. The Russian Commissioner underscored that "such a cynic crime must be thoroughly investigated and the guilty severely punished".

On 16 January, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova replied to the Open Letter of Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Valeriya Lutkovskaya regarding arrangement of the meeting of Nadezhda Savchenko with her sister Vera Savchenko.

On 14–15 January 2015, Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova participated in the work of the National Forum ‘State and Civil Society: Cooperation in the Name of Development’. Recent amendments to the law on non-governmental organisations became the key issue of the forum.

Pursuant to Article 84 of the Constitution, Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma draft federal constitutional law On Amendments to the Federal Constitutional Law On Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation and the draft federal law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation to Improve the Work of Human Rights Commissioners.

Representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia will track violations and attempted provocations during potential protest actions if any take place today after announcement of the verdict on the Yves Rocher case against brothers Alexey and Oleg Navalny, Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova reported today.

Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova is utterly opposed to adoption of the draft law on amendments to the Russian Water Code. Ms Pamfilova is ready to speak when this project is to be discussed at the plenary session of the State Duma.

On 19 December, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova had a working meeting with the UN Senior Human Rights Adviser in Russia Ryszard Komenda.
