Ukrainian sailors underwent comprehensive medical examination

Three Ukrainian sailors who had been injured during detention for illegally crossing the border in the Kerch Strait, underwent an in-depth medical examination at Municipal Clinical Hospital No.1 (Pirogov Hospital).
According to the sailors themselves, they had been given a comprehensive medical examination, which they were satisfied with. Andrey Eider, Vasily Soroka and Andrey Artemenko were examined by a therapist, surgeon, neuropathologist, neurosurgeon, ENT, ophthalmologist. They also underwent a CT Scan.
Earlier, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova together with Vice President of the European Ombudsman Institute, independent international expert Nina Karpachova visited the sailors in Pretrial Detention Center No.2 (SIZO-2 Lefortovo). During the visit, the need to continue the treatment of the navy men and their medical examination in civilian healthcare institutions of Moscow was discussed with the leadership of the SIZO and the medical unit.
As the federal ombudsman noted, the survey sites were chosen taking into account the presence of highly qualified specialists and equipment necessary for the diagnostics.
