On March 4, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova took part in meeting of members of the European Network of the Global Alliance of National Institutions for the Protection of Human Rights (GANHRI) in Geneva. She spoke with Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova on the sidelines of event. Ombudswomen of Russia and Ukraine exchanged questions on citizens held in penitentiary institutions of two countries.

"Lyudmila Denisova reported that Kirill Vyshinsky had been transferred to the Kiev pretrial detention facility for consideration of the appeal complaint on the extension of detention. She gave an approximate date for the case hearing, — March 20 — and I said that I would like to attend the trial. In any case, this is very important information, because Vyshinsky has been kept in custody for a long time just for performing professional activities. The second question discussed concerns the fate pf with servicemen Alexander Baranov and Maxim Odintsov, and I am glad to learn that Odintsov’s mother can visit him in Kiev, I have repeatedly asked for this, today I will inform her. At my request, the staff of the Ukrainian Commissioner visited Baranov and reported that he had no complaints, but here our information diverges — the conditions of detention in the prison settlement are complex, there was a request to transfer him to another one", -Tatiana Moskalkova said.

In turn, Lyudmila Denisova asked about fates of Edem Bekirov, Vladimir Dudka and Pavel Grib in terms of providing them with medical care. According to Tatiana Moskalkova, the court examination of the case of Pavel Grib is going on in Rostov-on-Don, he was already transferred there, Edem Bekirov was visited by members of the PMC in detention center of Simferopol, he did not make any complaints about his health. Regarding Dudka, the Ukrainian Commissioner also received information about his state of health, he was also visited by the PMC and already received necessary medical care.
