High Commissioner met with Ombudsman of Serbia

On December 17, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with Protector of Citizens (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Serbia Zoran Pasalić.

The participants of the meeting discussed topical human rights issues and further collaboration under a Memorandum on Cooperation between ombudspersons of Russia and Serbia.

Tatiana Moskalkova told the Serbian Ombudsman about the institute of the Russian ombudsperson, its main directions of activity and shared good practices. In turn, Zoran Pasalić invited the High Commissioner to get acquainted with human rights protection mechanisms in Serbia.

At the end of the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova invited Zoran Pasalić to take part in parliamentary hearings in the State Duma, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the institute of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.

On November 9, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova and Protector of Citizens (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Serbia Zoran Pasalić signed a Memorandum on Cooperation. The document is aimed at cooperation on protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia.
