High Commissioner met Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain

On November 7, in Manama, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.

During the meeting, the Russian ombudswoman and the Foreign Minister of Bahrain discussed a wide range of human rights issues, paying special attention to human rights education.

During the conversation, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani presented the Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which includes 108 events. The project is being implemented by the High Coordinating Committee for Human Rights under the leadership of the Bahrain Foreign Ministry. Local and international lawyers, including from the UN, were involved in the work on the strategy.

In the first half of 2021 thanks to the Opportunities program implemented in the Kingdom more than 1,800 employees of the public administration system, representatives of the private sector, journalists and representatives from other spheres received trainings aimed at increasing the level of human rights literacy in the country.

In turn, the Russian ombudswoman told the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain about the scientific and methodological activities of the Scientific and Educational Center for Human Rights, its events and projects aimed at improving the level human rights education and addressing current human rights issues.
