Effective cooperation has been established among members of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance in the promotion and protection of human rights.

On June 20, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova visited foreign football fans, held in Pretrial Detention Center No. 5 of the Moscow Department of the FSIN of Russia.

During the visit, the Russian ombudswoman was approached by citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran A. to assist in granting the right to serve his sentence in the homeland after conviction. In addition, the detainee said that he had no money to buy food.

To protect the rights of a foreign citizen, Tatiana Moskalkova sent appeals to President of General Inspection Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran Naser Seraj, as well as to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As a result of the High Commissioner’s appeal, citizen A. was provided with the necessary legal and financial assistance, and the right to a fair trial was also guaranteed.
