High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova continues to receive complaints about unfounded and illegal procedural decisions which mainly relate to rejections to initiate criminal proceedings. Last year, there were 1,694 such requests.
Citizen O. appealed to High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova because of the refusal to initiate a criminal case on the fact of illegal actions of employees of one of the Moscow private clinics. According to the woman, she became a victim of fraud: she was misled about her state of health, as well as the need to provide paid medical services and was forced to sign a loan agreement.
Earlier, O. received a refusal to initiate a criminal case from law enforcement agencies. In turn, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova sent an appeal to the I Prosecutor’s Office of Moscow of Tverskoy district. As a result of the joint work of the Prosecutor’s Office and High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova, violations of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation were revealed and an additional check was organized, and women’s rights were restored.
