16 October 2014
The three-year criminal proceedings related to a murder of a Russian serviceman closed in September 2014. The true guilty was found and sentenced to seven years in prison.
On 8 September 2014, the murdered soldier’s mother sent Ms Pamfilova a letter of gratitude for the assistance to the investigation of her son’s murder.
For three years since 2011 the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation had sent numerous appeals to reopen the investigation and the Commissioner’s Office members had always provided the serviceman’s mother with their professional advice.
