Conscript assigned to alternative service

With the help of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia a conscript being a conscientious objector managed to defend his right to do civilian substitute service instead of the military one, while before even the court held that the primary decision of the draft commission was legal.

Members of the Commissioner’s Office helped to prepare a substantiated complaint to the Military Enlistment Office and in December 2014 the issue was reviewed.
