On 5 March, in the course of the 9th session of the Nenets Autonomous Area’s Council of Deputies Alexander Belugin was appointed Commissioner for Human Rights in the area. He received 13 out of 18 deputies’ votes.

Confidence in institute of human rights commissioner significantly increased
The Levada Center’s opinion surveys published on 12 February showed a significant increase in the index of public confidence in the institute of the human rights commissioner in Russia. In January 2015, the index grew up to 3.11 (five-point scale) in comparison to 2.76 points for the same period last year.
