Novosibirsk Commissioner held open office hours
On 1 July, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva held open office hours in Ob Town. During the reception she received a complaint from residents of an apartment building about the ultimate limit state of their dwelling.
Hero of Russia Serik Sultangabiev undergoes rehabilitation in Sverdlovsk Region
On 2 July, Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova and President of the Lesnoy Town Soldiers’ Mothers Committee Nelly Markelova visited an internal troops’ hospital at the MIA of Russia in Ekaterinburg, where the Hero of Russia, Colonel Serik Sultangabiev, is undergoing a rehabilitation course.
Ivanovo Commissioner considered education system problems
Commissioner for Human Rights in Ivanovo Region Natalia Kovaleva is to address the local authorities, the regional Duma and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia with recommendations related to improving the regional education system. The decision was made following the results of the meeting on ‘General Education Personnel in Ivanovo Region: Problems and Solutions’ held by the Commissioner with the Expert Council members on 24 June.

On 1 July, the Republic of Crimea’s Government opens an e-form for evaluation of the local authorities’ activity.
Penza Commissioner inspected children’s summer recreation camps
On 29 June, Commissioner for Human Rights in Penza Region Elena Rogova jointly with representatives of the regional education ministry visited the Friends’ Valley children’s recreation camp (Michurinsky Village) and the Romantik children’s and teenagers’ rehabilitation unit (Zasechnoe).
Amendments to law providing land plots to families with many children to be considered in Leningrad Region
On 29 June, after the second appeal made by Commissioner for Human Rights in Leningrad Region Sergei Shabanov, acting Governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko, introduced the amendments to the law on free-of-charge provision of land plots to certain categories of citizens to be considered by the regional legislative assembly.

3rd International Summer School on Human Rights ends in Kazan
On 26 June, the 3rd International Summer School on Human Rights ends in Kazan. Having been organised at the Faculty of Law (Kazan Federal University), this summer event has been devoted to the actual issues of the protection of economic, social and cultural rights at the international, regional and national levels.
