On 1 July, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva held open office hours in Ob Town. During the reception she received a complaint from residents of an apartment building about the ultimate limit state of their dwelling.

On 2 July, Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova and President of the Lesnoy Town Soldiers’ Mothers Committee Nelly Markelova visited an internal troops’ hospital at the MIA of Russia in Ekaterinburg, where the Hero of Russia, Colonel Serik Sultangabiev, is undergoing a rehabilitation course.

Commissioner for Human Rights in Ivanovo Region Natalia Kovaleva is to address the local authorities, the regional Duma and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia with recommendations related to improving the regional education system. The decision was made following the results of the meeting on ‘General Education Personnel in Ivanovo Region: Problems and Solutions’ held by the Commissioner with the Expert Council members on 24 June.

On 1 July, the Republic of Crimea’s Government opens an  e-form  for evaluation of the local authorities’ activity.

On 29 June, Commissioner for Human Rights in Penza Region Elena Rogova jointly with representatives of the regional education ministry visited the Friends’ Valley children’s recreation camp (Michurinsky Village) and the Romantik children’s and teenagers’ rehabilitation unit (Zasechnoe).

On 29 June, after the second appeal made by Commissioner for Human Rights in Leningrad Region Sergei Shabanov, acting Governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko, introduced the amendments to the law on  free-of-charge  provision of land plots to certain categories of citizens to be considered by the regional legislative assembly.

On 26 June, the 3rd International Summer School on Human Rights ends in Kazan. Having been organised at the Faculty of Law (Kazan Federal University), this summer event has been devoted to the actual issues of the protection of economic, social and cultural rights at the international, regional and national levels.

Provision of housing to servicemen and military retirees, pension and other benefits’ rates, medical support of ex-servicemen  were among the most frequent issues the residents of Crimea complained about during the public office hours held on 24–25 June.

On 22 June, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva visited the Correctional Facility No. 2 of the General Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (IK-2 GUFSIN) of Russia in Novosibirsk Region.

A prosecutor’s inspection conducted on request of Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint Petersburg Alexander Shishlov revealed a mass violation of labour rights upon closure of one of Laura car dealer’s sales centres.
