On 10 August, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva visited the Special Temporary Accommodation Centre for Aliens (SUVSIG), the Novosibirsk Region Directorate of the Federal Migration Service of Russia.

On 7 August, participants in the section named ‘NGOs and Human Rights’ held at the 3rd Republican Forum of Community Focussed  Non-Government  Organisations,  co-chaired  by Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya, presented their proposals on development of institutes of civil society and NGOs.

On 7 August, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chuvash Republic Yuriy Kruchinin and Chief of the Chuvash Transit Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Artur Sergeev entered into agreement on basic forms of cooperation.

On 3–6 August, a representative of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, officers of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office and staff members of the Western Military District Prosecutor’s Office inspected jointly the 28th Independent Disciplinary Battalion at the Military Unit No. 12801 in Mulino Village, Nizhniy Novgorod Region.

On 6 August, Prosecutor of the Republic of Bashkortostan Andrey Nazarov and regional Commissioner for Human Rights Rim Kayumov conducted a joint inspection of the Correctional Facility of Special Regime No. 4 and the Correctional Medical Facility No. 19 in Salavat.

Under the aegis of Commissioner for Human Rights in Yaroslavl Region Sergei Baburkin, the region launched a campaign named ‘Let’s Protect Our Children’ intended to remind parents about their responsibility. The campaign has been caused by a chain of tragic events: for the last two months six children fell out the window, one of them died.

On 5 August, Legal Assistance Day was held in the Correctional Facility No. 5, the Republic of Tatarstan. Over 70 prisoners consulted specialists of different authorities and organisations.

In total 2,503 people applied to Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Crimea Lyudmila Lubina during the whole operational period of the institute. In 85% of cases the Commissioner for Human Rights managed to help them to solve their problems.

On 5 August, Assistant Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Khakassia Olga Kubrenyuk visited the Penal Colony No. 31. The inspection revealed no violations and showed that the colony has created proper conditions and the premises correspond to the established requirements.

Representatives of the Ivanovo Region Commissioner for Human Rights visited some penitentiary facilities of the region, including correctional facilities No. 2 and No. 6, the Correctional Medical Facility No. 8 in Talitsy Village, and the Penal Colony No. 12 in Shileksha Village.
