On 24 November, Commissioner for Human Rights in Saratov Region Tatiana Zhurik made a visit to the Rovensky Municipal District, where she held open office hours for public. 

Barnaul hosted a roundtable devoted to social adaptation of homeless persons and former prisoners initiated by chairman of Sverdlovsk Regional Public Organisation ‘The Right for protection and Assistance’ Yury Potapenko. Commissioner for Human Rights in Altai Region Boris Larin supported the initiative and invited representatives of local authorities to join the discussion on the subject.

In December, the General Department for Capital Development of the Presidential Property Management Office is about to start reconstructing the building intended to house the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia. The renovation project has been finalised by now.

On 13 November, the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ivanovo Region considered the issue of observance of human rights by law enforcement during administrative arrests.

On 19 November, on the threshold of  All-Russia  Day of Legal Aid to Children, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia organised a video conference called ‘Upbringing Respect for Human Rights by Human Rights Education’.

A discussion on the complex subject was held on air of the Public Television of Russia channel (OTR) during the ‘Human Rights’ programme on 19 November. Regional human rights commissioners Tatiana Merzlyakova (Sverdlovsk Region), Tatiana Margolina (Perm Territory), Dzhambulat Ozdoev (Republic of Ingushetia) voiced their stand regarding the issue.

On 10 November, Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova met with chairpersons of the local committees of soldiers’ mothers.

With the assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Dagestan Ummupazil Omarova the rights of students of a reginal institute will be restored.
