World Congress of Persons with Disabilities to be held in Yekaterinburg in 2017
Yekaterinburg will hold the First World Congress of Persons with Disabilities in September 2017. On 11 April, Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova participated in the meeting of the Congress organizing committee.

On 7–8 April, the Conference On Protection of Social Rights in Changing World initiated by Commissioner for Human Rights in Perm Territory Tatiana Margolina took place in Perm.
On nationality of Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko
The High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation had been taking measures to protect rights of convicted Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko. For instance, as a result of the High Commissioner’s actions following their complaints the legal uncertainty related to their nationality was eliminated.
On protection of rights of Ukrainian citizens in Russian Federation
In 2015, Ella Pamfilova took certain measures to protect and restore the rights of sixty six citizens of Ukraine who had personally applied to the High Commissioner. The rights of refugees and internally displaced persons suffering from life difficulties were also restored.
Veteran’s widow of Great Patriotic War assisted in home renovation
After petition of Commissioner for Human Rights in Irkutsk Region Valeriy Lukin to Mayor of Irkutsk City Dmitri Berdnikov a widow of a Great Patriotic War veteran had repair works carried out in her flat.

On children’s sports
On 7 April, a regular release of the ‘Human Rights’ programme was aired on the Public Television of Russia channel. It was devoted to children’s sports problems and the topic was covered by Commissioner for Human Rights in Pskov Region Dmitry Shakhov.

Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint Petersburg opened hot line for conscripts
Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint Petersburg Alexander Shishlov launched a hot line concerning realisation of the rights of conscripts. During the spring and summer recruiting campaign (until 15 July), the conscripts and their representatives can receive a consultation.

Novosibirsk Region: interdepartmental interaction on protection of voting rights
On 6 April, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva met with Secretary of the Election Commission of Novosibirsk Region Sergey Lebedev and an expert of the Association of Non-profit Organisations for the Protection of Electoral Rights ‘Civil Control’, Oleg Ivannikov.
