Rights of residents of Zemetchino settlement, Penza Region, to healthy environment restored
With assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in Penza Region Elena Rogova the rights of residents of Zemetchino settlement to healthy environment have been restored. The guilty persons have been held liable. The plant polluting the air has begun works to organise the waste storage outside the settlement.
Bryansk Commissioner inspected penal colony in Klintsy
On 7 September, Commissioner for Human Rights in Bryansk Region Vyacheslav Tulupov and officials of the Bryansk Region Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia visited Penal Colony No. 6 in Klintsy.

About equality of all participants in elections
On 8 September, a regular release of the ‘Human Rights’ programme was aired on the Public Television of Russia (OTR). It was devoted to protection of voting rights. Regional human rights commissioners Tatiana Margolina (Perm Territory) and Tatiana Potyaeva (Moscow) were guests of the programme.

On 6 September, Commissioner for Human Rights in Penza Region Elena Rogova visited the police custody cell and the branch of the Nizhnelomovsk Interdistrict Hospital during her working visit to Vadinsk.

On 5 September, Commissioner for Human Rights in Tula Region Galina Fomina met with Chairman of the Election Commission of Tula Region Sergey Kostenko.

Commissioner in Khakassia assisted in developing recommendations to organise medical aid to people in custody
Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Khakassia Alexander Chistotin held a joint meeting with representatives of the republican Prosecutor’s Office, Civic Chamber, Public Monitoring Committee, Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Healthcare. The meeting was devoted to the medical aid to people held in custody. Following the meeting competent authorities will be given recommendations to improve the situation.

About free legal assistance system
On 25 August, a regular release of the ‘Human Rights’ programme was aired on the Public Television of Russia channel (OTR). This time it focused on the development of the free legal assistance system in Russian regions. The high-quality voluntary legal aid is especially important in the current rough social and economic circumstances.
Ivanovo Commissioner submitted requests to protect rights of people awaiting deportation
Commissioner for Human Rights in Ivanovo Region Natalia Kovaleva takes measures to facilitate departure of migrants awaiting deportation. People cannot get home, since the federal budget funds allocated for transportation have been exhausted.
Elections observers’ ethics code presented in Pskov
On 22 August, Commissioner for Human Rights in Pskov Region Dmitry Shakhov and Chairman of the Pskov Electoral Commission Nikolai Tsvetkov presented the Ethics Code of Election Observers.
