With assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in Altai Territory Boris Larin rights of residents of an apartment building have been restored. A utility company violating the rules of calculating payments for heating has been obliged to recalculate the payments in accordance with the current legislation.

On 17 November, human rights commissioners from three Russian regions participated in a regular release of the ‘Human Rights’ programme on the Public Television of Russia (OTR). The release was dedicated to the issues of development of the public social services system in Tyumen Region. The commissioners spoke on the involvement of non-governmental sector in the social services sphere.

On 17 November, a hotline on issues of salary payments delays, late and incomplete salary payments was launched on the website of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint Petersburg.

On 16 November, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva addressed students of the Novosibirsk Military Institute of Internal Forces named after General of the Army I. K. Yakovlev of the MIA of Russia.

With the assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chuvash Republic Yuriy Kruchinin a long-delayed construction project was terminated in the centre of Cheboksary City. The construction company director was held accountable by the court decision, and the company was obliged to return the land plot to the city. For many years, the construction had been threatening lives and health of people.

On 10 November, a regular release of the ‘Human Rights’ programme was aired on the Public Television of Russia (OTR). Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Buryatia Yulia Zhambalova and her counterpart from Irkutsk Region Valeriy Lukin discussed the problems of protection of rights of persons with mental disorder.

As a result of a prosecutor’s inspection initiated by Commissioner for Human Rights in the Udmurt Republic Veniamin Solomennikov labour rights of construction workers were restored.

After interference of Commissioner for Human Rights in Ivanovo Region Natalia Kovaleva the administrative case against a petitioner was dismissed.

On 2 November, Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint-Petersburg Alexander Shishlov held a round table titled ‘The use of the preventive measure in the form of custody: respect for human rights and freedoms.’

On 1 November, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabayeva met with the Second Secretary of the political department of the Embassy of Sweden in Russia Elina Jonsson.
