September 10, 2017, on a single voting day, gubernatorial elections in the city of Sevastopol will take place. This event is of special significance for the citizens: in the Ukrainian period they could not directly elect the mayor, executive officers were appointed by Kiev. During the «Russian Spring» and after reunification with Russia, the idea of the local chief executive officers electing was one of the basic requirements of the citizens of Sevastopol.
