On December 7, on the eve of the International Human Rights Day the winners of the annual regional contest of research and creative works of students «Human Rights in the Modern World» took place in Vologda.

The competition was held on the initiative of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Vologda Region Oleg Dimoni. The main goal of the activity is human rights education of students, formation of an active citizenship, and teaching young people in the spirit of humanism, freedom and democracy.

The authors of the works carried out independent sociological studies on human rights and the problems of their implementation.

49 schoolchildren and students of educational organizations of primary, secondary and secondary vocational education of the region were awarded with Diplomas of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Vologda Region.
