On April 25, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ulyanovsk region Lyudmila Krutilina made a presentation on the protection of human rights at the Second Open Forum of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The event was attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, the Public Chamber of the region, trade unions and the business community.
In her speech, Lyudmila Krutilina stated about the increased number of citizens' appeals on the protection of labor rights. According to the regional commissioner, the largest number of complaints in Ulyanovsk region regards the
Lyudmila Krutilina also touched upon the problem of disabled people and students’ employment. The regional ombudsman noted that since November 2016, on her initiative, the enlightenment project «Legal student universal education» has been implemented.
Following the results of the forum, the discussion participants agreed that effective citizens' labor rights protection requires systemic monitoring of the situation.
