Tomsk Commissioner held open office hours for convicts in strict-regime colony
On 16 February, Commissioner for Human Rights in Tomsk Region Elena Kartashova and the Acting Head of the Tomsk Region Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Vitaly Safronov visited Correctional Facility No. 2 in Asino.
The regional commissioner held open office hours for 14 people, including two persons with a second category disability. The applicants needed legal advice on housing issues, procedures of appealing against judicial decisions, acquiring of Russian citizenship, obtaining of the passport, inheriting of land, as well as the provision of high-technology medical assistance.
Elena Kartashova clarified the current legislation while answering a number of legal issues. Ms Kartashova admitted 7 requests for consideration. They will be answered in writing.
