On August 12, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with candidate for the position of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya.

Tatiana Moskalkova and Saria Saburskaya discussed the human rights situation in the region, in particular, topical issues of observing social rights of citizens. The participants of the meeting also spoke about servicemen’s rights protection and ensuring human rights in places of detention. In addition, special attention was paid to the human rights education.

Following the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova agreed on the appointment of Saria Saburskaya to the post of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan for the third term.
