Tatiana Moskalkova approved appointment of Human Rights Commissioner in the Kamchatka Territory

On June 11, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held videoconference conversation with candidate for the post of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kamchatka Territory Andrei Zimin.
Despite the fact that this year the federal ombudswoman received only 21 appeals from residents of the Kamchatka Territory, there are several human rights «pressure points», including the lack of a rehabilitation center for the disabled persons, a center for social rehabilitation, as well as the lack of opportunity for residents of the peninsula to get to the mainland throughout the year. The activity of the regional ombudsman is also hampered by the lack of his own office.
As a result of the conversation, Tatiana Moskalkova approved appointment of Andrei Zimin for the post of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kamchatka Territory.
