Sverdlovsk Commissioner initiated public election monitoring center creation

On August 28, at the initiative of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region Tatyana Merzliakova, a working meeting was held, during which the participants discussed the establishment of the Center for Public Election Observation on the Single Vote Day.
Representatives of the Election Commission and the Public Chamber of the Sverdlovsk Region took part in the event.
This year, on election day for the first time an independent observation post for the election will perform its tasks.
In particular, an improvised studio is planned to be created, where the representatives of regional and municipal media will discuss the voting with guests of the Center for Public Monitoring.
In addition, webcams installed at the Public Monitoring Center will broadcast to the websites of the Election Commission of the Sverdlovsk Region and of the Regional Commissioner.
Volunteers will work in the Center for Public Monitoring from 8 am until 10 pm. During the monitoring, the Election Commission of the Sverdlovsk Region will broadcast an "interactive map of violations".
A mobile group of specialists who will be able to inspect any precinct election commission will be also created.
