On 24 February, the 7th Ural School of Human Rights on the subject of the ‛Strategy of litigation support: freedom from discrimination and freedom of the press′ has started in Yekaterinburg.

Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova participates in the event.

Lawyers and activists of non-commercial organizations not only from Sverdlovsk Region, but also from Tajikistan, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom; from the Russian city of Murmansk to Astrakhan, from Moscow to Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk are to take part in the Ural School of Human Rights.

Within the next five days they will participate in a conference, round tables, trainings on the strategy of litigation support, freedom of speech, and legal safety of journalists.

Tatiana Merzlyakova noted that the issue of freedom of expression is currently given high attention in Sverdlovsk Region.
