Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Sardana Guryeva held a visiting reception of elderly citizen P. at her place. The widow and mother of four children has been living since 1960 in an abandoned wooden house, which was flooded in 1998. The results of the inspection of exterminators showed that the house was unfit for living. All appeals of the woman till now have not found a positive result.

The written complaint of the elderly woman was taken under the personal control of the Commissioner.

"The insufficiency or lack of financial capacity cannot be the basis for refusal to restore the violated constitutional rights of a citizen," Sardana Guryeva stated by the results of the reception.
