Orenburg Commissioner: more than 2000 appeals handled in 2016
On April 19, Commissioner for Human Rights in Orenburg Region Anatoly Chadov submitted to regional deputies a report on the observance of human rights and freedoms in 2016 and commented on a number of acute human rights issues.
In the course of the speech, Anatoly Chadov said that in 2016, 2253 appeals were received from residents of the region, 200 more than in the previous year. Most of them concern housing issues, communal problems and medical care.
According to the information provided, 54% of the applicants were consulted or provided with legal assistance, regarding 31% of appeals requests to various instances of the region were sent and the violated rights of 12% of applicants were restored.
In conclusion, the Ombudsman for Human Rights in Orenburg Region provided all the necessary recommendations on health issues, the provision of barrier free environment for people with disabilities and carrying out capital repairs of houses to the executive and legislative authorities of the region.
