Open office hours held online for convicts in Tomsk

On 24 December, within the framework of ‘VzaimoDeistviye’ (InterAction) project, remand detainees and convicts from Pretrial Detention Centre No. 2, correctional facilities No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, as well as Medical and Correctional Facility No. 2 spoke with the Commissioner for Human Rights in Tomsk Region using a modern videoconferencing technology. All 17 applicants received detailed legal consultations. Some of them will receive answers in writing.

Open office hours were held online in the Tomsk Regional Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the second time in 2015. President of Tomsk Regional Notary Chamber Natalya Kalashnikova, the regional FPS Directorate staff, the students of Law Institute of Tomsk State University, lawyers and teachers also took part in the event.

The applicants asked questions related to the family law, the inheritance law, benefits meant for the indigent, appeals against court verdicts, as well as the mechanism with which the orphaned can receive housing.
