Novosibirsk and Tomsk prepare for elections
On 7 June, Commissioner for Human Rights in Novosibirsk Region Nina Shalabaeva and member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Alexander Brod discussed the issues of election campaign monitoring.
Alexander Brod visited Novosibirsk Region because of the forthcoming election campaign of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation which will be held all over Russia on the Single Voting Day on 18 September. The Commissioner and the representative of the Presidential Council reached an agreement on regular cooperation and monitoring of citizens’ voting rights observance during the election campaigns.
Earlier this month, Alexander Brod met with Commissioner for Human Rights in Tomsk Region Elena Kartashova. They also discussed the monitoring of observance of law and human rights during the forthcoming elections. They paid special attention to the access to polling stations for disabled people and other people with limited mobility.
