Meeting of Coordination Council of Commissioners for Human Rights in the Far Eastern Federal District
On May 4, a regular meeting of the Coordination Council of Commissioners for Human Rights in the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) took place under the aegis of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Khabarovsk Region Igor Chesnitskiy.
Anastasia Zhukova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chukotka Region, Sergei Sedov (the Sakhalin Region), Valentina Bronevich (the Kamchatka Region), Olga Zaitseva (the Jewish Autonomus Region), Lyubov Khashcheva (the Amur Region), Alexei Yefimov (the Republic of Sakha Yakutia) and Valeriy Rozov (the Primorsky Region) participated via videoconference in the event.
The regional ombudsmen discussed the results of the human rights activities in the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District during 2016. They also addressed problematic issues concerning protection of rights and freedoms of the FEFD’s residents and outlined the ways of solution.
In conclusion, the ombudsmen drew up a common action plan for 2017.
