Deputy Chairman of the regional Public Monitoring Commission Radomir Ibragimov and Kemerovo Region Commissioner for Human Rights Nikolai Volkov inspected some correctional facilities in Kemerovo in connection with complaints received from some prisoners.

"The inspection was related to the six prisoners' complaints given to Ella Pamfilova during her summer visit to the region. She required the local human rights commissioner’s office and members of the regional PMC to verify the information," Mr Ibragimov said.

The inspection showed that half of the submissions failed to correspond to the facts, while another half required more detailed examination. All the facts in the remaining complaints will be thoroughly examined within a month.
