On 18 June, Commissioner for Human Rights in Ivanovo Region Natalia Kovaleva held a working meeting on procrastination problem in executing court judgements related to aliens and stateless persons’ deportation.
The persons to be deported complain to the regional commissioner that due to the improper implementation of court judgements they are forced to re-execute their papers required to pass the border, which results in waste of time and money.
Insufficient funding provided by the Federal Bailiffs’ Service of Russia to buy tickets for deported people was defined as a key reason of the problem.
Taking into account the similar situation in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, Ms Kovaleva decided to send a relevant appeal to the Government of Russia and the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova.
