The Commissioner for Human Rights in Irkutsk Region reports that an unlawful arrest of more than a hundred people has been revealed in Irkutsk. Valeriy Lukin has already petitioned the Prosecutor’s Office of the region.
The complaint received by the Commissioner said that on 16 April, on the territory near the Irkutsk Mosque more than a hundred people, belonging mostly to ethnic groups of Central Asia were arrested and escorted to the Police Unit No. 7.

As a result of the visit a petition with a request to initiate an examination and take legal actions of the prosecutorial response has been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office of Irkutsk Region.
