International Law Forum launched in Sverdlovsk Region

On 19 October, 7th International Forum called ‘Law Week in the Urals’ was launched in Sverdlovsk Region.
Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova has noted that the current forum is a regular one in a sequence of the annual events in which the Commissioner takes part together with international organisations.
Different venues in Sverdlovsk Region will host lectures, workshops, seminars and conferences on law and other current issues related to construction of a state governed by the rule of law and development of a civil society. 49 events are to be held in total.
Annually the forum hosts some one thousand participants representing state authorities, the prosecutor’s office, courts, the legal community, public organisations, as well as teaching staff of the universities.
In particular, OHCHR Senior Human Rights Adviser in Russia Ryszard Komenda has arrived in Ekaterinburg to part in the forum.
The forum’s events will be held till 23 October.
