In 2015, Commissioner for Human Rights in Saratov Region Tatiana Zhurik received 3,407 complaints. This was reported by Ms Zhurik at the session of the regional Duma.

Over a thousand of complaints (about 30 percent of the total) was related to the housing and utilities sector. The requests were mostly from pensioners, large families, disabled persons and low-income citizens. According to Tatiana Zhurik, the total number of complaints in 2015 showed a 1.7 percent increase in comparison to the previous year. The number of appeals from Saratov, Volsk and other districts slightly increased. It should also be mentioned that the legal awareness of the locals is growing: the information alleged in the complaints was not confirmed only in 16 percent of cases.

Summarising the results of the year, 20 percent of the total number of complaints were resolved. In 53 percent of the cases, complainants were given consultations and explanations.
