Human Rights Observance Report 2016 presented in Bryansk region
On 31 March, Commissioner for Human Rights in Bryansk region Vyacheslav Tulupov presented the Human Rights Observance Report 2016 to regional deputies.
The regional commissioner in his speech noted that 1022 citizens filed complaints to the Office of the Commissioner last year. According to the Ombudsman, most complaints concerned matters of housing, social support and health care.
Vyacheslav Tulupov also noted that over the past year the number of complaints about violation of civil (personal) rights amounted 31 percent.
In addition, the Commissioner paid special attention to the problems of the family, motherhood and childhood. An important aspect of protecting children’s health is the organization of a summer health campaign. In 2016, 105 million rubles were spent from the federal budget on the recovery and recreation of children in hardship.

In conclusion, Vyacheslav Tulupov underlined the importance of cooperation between the Office of the Commissioner and state and local governmental bodies.
