On 25 February, the Human Rights Assistance Day was held in the penal colony No. 4 in the Republic of Tatarstan. It was arranged by Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya jointly with the republican Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
Ms Saburskaya, Ildus Hayrullin, a prosecutor supervising the legal compliance in correctional institutions, Dmitry Sedov, a lawyer, and also representatives of different organizations and government agencies answered the questions of convicts. In total 33 people got advice during open office hours.
The experts provided clarifications on such issues as the designation of a disability group, the rejection of a decision of the court which imposed punishment or denied a release on parole.
