On 23 September, with assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya a roundtable on financial awareness was held in Kazan.
In her opening speech the Commissioner underscored that different conflict situations do not favour public wealth or protection of consumers’ or small investors’ rights. "Failure to achieve the goals expected from a deal or huge losses or debts after it result in the increase of complaints to the authorities, loss of public confidence in suppliers of financial products and services, and social tensions in general," Ms Saburskaya said.
Participants discussed the public financial awareness level, relations between borrowers and lending agencies, prevention of fraud by illegal loan companies, etc. Following the meeting, corresponding recommendations on the issues are to be compiled.
