Federal Register of People with Disabilities launched in Russia

On 1 January, the Federal State Information System ‘The Federal Register of People with Disabilities’ (FRPD) has been launched in Russia at www.sfri.ru.

According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, starting from 1 January 2017 the web portal contains data of various authorities: federal medical and social examination bodies, the Pension Fund of Russia, Social Security Fund, Federal Service for Labour and Employment (Rostrud), Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, and Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

An online private office of each disabled will make it possible for them to receive general information about disabilities, recommended and implemented rehabilitation and habilitation measures, as well as services and allowances due and received. It will also allow them making e-applications for public services.

Moreover, the Federal Register will facilitate employment of the disabled. The data accumulated by the system will allow identifying categories of the disabled that experience problems with employment even before such persons report their problems to an employment service.
