On 24 December, the best charity providers were awarded at the end of the traditional Charity Days project in Sverdlovsk region. A non-commercial public organisation Uralsky Dom (The Ural House), highly appraised by Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region Tatiana Merzlyakova, received a special category award for their assistance to the displaced persons and refugees.

It should be reminded that last year the organisation was awarded with the Russian National Prize ‘Civic Initiative’. Today, after the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, more than 200 addressed to the organisation for help. The modular residence halls provided by Uralsky Dom is the only accommodation point for Ukrainian refugees in Zarechny city. In addition, the organisation’s members collected humanitarian aid, and together with the involved legal experts assisted to the displaced persons in job searching and preparing documents.
