That was the topic of another release of TV program ‛Human Rights’ on the Public Television of Russia on 18 February. Director of the Department for Protection of Human Rights in Criminal Court Proceedings, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Valery Bazunov, was the guest of the program.

He told the audience about the long-felt need to develop a new Penal Enforcement Code of the Russian Federation, which would have a more detailed mechanism of protection of human rights in penitentiaries.

Professor of the Faculty of Law, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vyacheslav Seliverstov, and Retired Major General of the Internal Service, representing the Volnoe Delo, Oleg Deripaska Foundation, Peter Posmakov, participated as experts in the TV release.

In their speeches, they also focused on topical issues of reforming of the penal enforcement legislation of the Russian Federation and shared the plans of the working group on elaboration of a scientific and theoretic model of the new Penal Enforcement Code.
