Confidence in institute of human rights commissioner significantly increased

​The Levada Center’s opinion surveys published on 12 February showed a significant increase in the index of public confidence in the institute of the human rights commissioner in Russia. In January 2015, the index grew up to 3.11 (five-point scale) in comparison to 2.76 points for the same period last year.

During the survey the respondents were invited to answer how important the role of one or another state body is in the society, and to asses it using the five-point scale from "unimportant" to "very important". The survey had been held from 23 to 26 January 2015 by means of the representative sampling among urban and rural population of Russia and involved 1600 participants of 18 y.o. and older from 134 localities in 46 regions of the country.

The data have been given by the Yury Levada Analytical Centre in its annual yearbook of Russian public opinion, which is published in full at the official website of the centre.
