On 27 August 2015, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova received a letter of gratitude from a resident of Ufa City for assistance rendered by Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Bashkortostan Rim Kayumov in resolving a housing problem of the applicant.
In summer 2012, a rainwater disposal system in the city was damaged by fault of a car service company. Since then, sewage waters started getting into yards of nearby houses.
In April 2013, a land plot crushed to result in a landslide of plants and household buildings. After that, electricity and gas supply to the households were cut off. Later on a real danger of a repeated landslide and collapse of houses arose, which in its turn could lead to a domestic gas explosion with victims among the public and much more
Following the interference of the regional Commissioner, the damage was restored. In addition, Mr Kayumov succeeded in having the owners of the house provided with comfortable housing on the basis of an exchange agreement instead of having them relocated to a temporary public housing.
