Commissioner in Altai Territory helped to restore disabled person’s right to accessible environment
With assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in Altai Territory Boris Larin the right of a disabled person to accessible environment was restored, the citizen was provided with a bank card to receive his disability pension.
The Barnaul City resident had earlier appealed to the Commissioner with a request to assist in solving his problem. The category I disabled person, the complainant had not been able to receive pension personally and had expressed his will to receive it through the bank organisation. He had asked the third party to appeal to the bank on his behalf. However, the bank refused him because the opening of an account was only possible in applicant’s personal presence, according to the bank.
After the appeal of the Commissioner the Prosecutor’s Office of Altai Territory initiated an inspection. As a result of the examination a remedial action order to the organisation to eliminate the violations of the legislation was issued.
