Commissioner for Human Rights in Moscow Region Ekaterina Semyonova held open office hours in Dzerzhinsky

During the open office hours held by Commissioner for Human Rights in Moscow Region Ekaterina Semenova in Dzerzhinsky city district, members of the local Council of Veterans submitted their request to restore the Culture Centre ‛Vertical’.

The veterans were concerned about the violation of the locals’ right to access to cultural facilities and proper living conditions due to the lack of cinemas and cultural centers.

More than 20 people addressed the Commissioner during the open office hours.
The residents are worried about different issues, the solution of which requires the assistance of the Commissioner: the violation of the law regulating the level of noise, formation of tariffs on housing and public utilities, and the list of housing and public utilities.

To sum up the results of the open office hours, Ekaterina Semenova noted that one of the most important tasks on the way to the restoration of the rights of citizens is to create a system of effective interaction between all the structures intended to provide their observance: the city administration, social security authorities, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In general, according to the Commissioner "the activity culture of the local self-government bodies is slowly growing, the authorities simply have no other way". The Commissioner believes that "it is the only way to ensure the respect of rights of citizens".
