Commissioner for Human Rights in Irkutsk Region helped large family improve living conditions
On 10 January, with assistance of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Irkutsk Region Valery Lukin a large family received an opportunity to move to new housing.
Ten years ago the family lost their home in a fire. All these years the couple with three children, one of which is disabled since childhood, has lived in a residence hall room. The child suffers from a serious chronic disease which makes it impossible to live together with him in one apartment. In June 2015, according to the claim of the prosecutor, the local municipal court ruled that the City Administration provided housing to the family under a social rent contract.
According the court ruling enforcement proceedings were launched. The City Administration offered accommodation twice, but both times it was not suitable for living and even failed to correspond to fire safety requirements.
