Commissioner for Human Rights in Altai Territory Boris Larin held a working meeting with Director of the Altai Territory Department of the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation Tatyana Petrova. During the meeting they discussed the issues related to the implementation of the right of citizens to social support.The Commissioner also got acquainted with the work of the customer service and spoke with experts and visitors of the office.

During the visit Boris Larin paid special attention to the problems related to the issue of health resort vouchers, provision of disabled people with technical means of rehabilitation, and also realisation of the rights of the citizens having been injured at the workplace. To make the Fund’s activity more transparent and comfortable for those applying for health resort vouchers, an electronic waiting list has been made available on the official website of the regional social insurance department.

The staff of the regional office of the social insurance department expressed their concern over the increase in the number of complaints from mothers, who had been working for some enterprises gone bankrupt, about the late payment of their maternity benefits and child allowance. According to the Commissioner, conditions of reception of citizens in the regional office meet all modern requirements. The issues of concern raised during the visit will serve as a basis for proposals regrading improvement of the regulatory framework to be submitted to public authorities.
